Our mission: popularizing lasers
Lasers are already more than 50 years old, but they are still at the heart of a range of new technologies. Today, scientific and industrial advances are opening up diverse applications for lasers for which this technology was not previously accessible. For instance, the transport, mapping, clean energy and healthcare markets can now benefit from access to laser technology to improve their products and services or create new applications, such as autonomous vehicles.
Our business: industrializing laser production
To successfully open up widespread access to lasers and reach high production volumes, Lumibird is capitalizing on its capacity for innovation and industrialization.
Innovation, to design increasingly high-performance lasers that are aligned with end users’ constraints, particularly in terms of miniaturization. Lumibird therefore allocates 8% of its revenues to R&D.
Industrialization, to adjust capacity to strong demand from the markets and produce at competitive costs. While laser production stages are still primarily manual today, the production lines and processes put in place by Lumibird are effectively aligned with this culture of industrialization and lean manufacturing.
